In our fall review, we wrote about the top millionaire gamers who take first place in the ratings of the coolest YouTube gaming channels.

In this article, we will talk about different channels, from 100k subscribers to 1M, all united by a sky-high Engagement Rate (ER).

In fact, ER is more important than the number of subscribers. The number of followers always attracts attention. PewDiePie vs. T-Series is probably the coolest battle in terms of subscribers and views, which has already become a classic. You can read this story in detail here.

But still, if we are talking about the prospects for advertising cooperation with creators, then the subscriber amount is not the most important indicator we recommend paying attention to. The fact is that the larger the subscriber’s base on YouTube, the lower the ER and, consequently, the level of advertising conversion also falls. Yes, a big number of subscribers make it attractive, even with a small ER. It is compensated by a broad brand awareness campaign, and that’s cool too. But if we set goals to achieve high conversion for direct sales, it is better to deal with influencers whose audience is not very large but super loyal.

In this review, we will look at YouTubers who speak about games and have an audience engagement rate of more than 10% (we will make an exception for one of the participants in the review). An ER of 4% is considered a very good indicator. If the metric is higher, it means that the audience highly appreciates the quality of the content and retains high loyalty.

For blogger’s searching, we used the Hypetrain service with a sample of 100k subscribers and with an audience in the United States. To be included in our review, videos on blogger’s channels had to be updated within the last 90 days.

So, let's go.

Geekermon, 124,000 subscribers. ER by month – 11.46%. The main audience on the channel is men aged 18 to 35 years. Among the latest reviews is the shooter Destiny 2.

Kurdish Gamer, 291,000 subscribers. ER by month – 20.06%. The number of subscribers on the channel is growing, and the views are also increasing. The author talks about FIFA 22, Assassins Creed and RoboSquare. However, the share of the audience in the US is small, just over 10%.

The Rageaholic, 324,000 subscribers. ER by month – 12.91%. One of the latest reviews is dedicated to Fallout 3. The channel's author, Daniel Harris, also comments on the political agenda.

Hbomb94, 520,000 subscribers. ER by month – 11.66%. The author of the channel is 28-years-old, he is known as a YouTuber and streamer on Twitch. Most of the videos are dedicated to Minecraft.

Jim Sterling, 838,000 subscribers. ER by month – 9.76%. He shows an interesting trend of reducing subscribers, and at the same time, increasing views.

Cxlvxn, almost a million subscribers (940,000), and at the same time, a super high ER (ER by month – 12.81%). Cxlvxn is an American gaming YouTuber who uploads Minecraft Survival Singleplayer and PvP. Cxlvxn is well known for his old Survival Games videos and exposing videos and RLCraft Series, which are some of his most popular videos.

Tango Tek, 1,020,000 subscribers. ER by month – 10.50%. He also has a second channel, Tango Tek2, where he uploads livestreams. His streams and reviews are also about Minecraft.

❗ At the end of our review, we’d like to share one more simple life hack. When you are looking for creators for cooperation, pay attention to the frequency of video release. The best option is if there is at least one video regularly released per week. Yes, that’s not easy, but the audience loves the creators for the regularity.

To avoid costly mistakes you’d better make only data-driven decisions. Hypetrain’s big data analytics algorithms make the hard work of picking the most relevant influencers from millions of profiles to match precisely your needs while you can enjoy the creative and fun side of the job.
